Hey guys! What’s up? I want to pass on a new game to all of you. It’s called Soldier of Fortune. I’m sure a lot of you have heard of it before. Bandit was the one who introduced it to me and slowly to a few others, but I want to get the word out to everyone. Around this time of year, I enter a classic-gaming phase where all I want to do is sit back and relive the memories of my most amazing experiences of the medium. This is due in no small part because of the massive AAA title releases I play one after another following the holiday rush. I usually get through the ones i’m most interested in by March or April, when the new year’s first big releases come out following the Christmas boom. I get through the first couple, in despair over the fact that new releases are coming out at a trickle compared to earlier, and look at the rest of seemingly mediocre titles that are at my disposal. I Am Alive is a fantastic downloadable game that I’ve had my eye on for years despite the development hell it’s been through. Now it’s staring at me from my PS3 game library, half finished and not drawing my attention. After playing the likes of Mass Effect 3, Battlefield 3, Rage, Uncharted 3, etc. for months, the lack of mechanical variety and depth of smaller games and lesser-budgeted titles don’t reel me in like they would any other time of the year. I’m spoiled by the industries’ best efforts around now, which is a fault i’m not proud to admit.
